The Board of Trustees has called on all faculty and staff to return to their duties immediately, warning of administrative actions for non-compliance.
The Board has also mandated the current administration to complete the ongoing semester by resuming all academic and administrative activities immediately, including classes and the 104th commencement convocation.
“The Administration should also promptly revise the academic calendar to account for the lost time, but this period should not exceed ninety days. Furthermore, the Administration is directed to ensure the timely payment of all part-time faculty,” the Board stated.
The Board has also called for an audit of the University within ninety days.
This meeting follows a crisis among the administration, faculty, and staff associations, primarily due to unresolved salary issues and other concerns. Over the weekend, ULFA and ULSA issued a joint statement demanding the immediate removal of President Nelson and his officers, along with the payment of salaries and the provision of buses for the campus.
During the session, the Board addressed all complaints from faculty, staff, and students. It also called for the procurement of a bus for the Sinje Campus and the establishment of a seamless transportation process for students traveling to and from the Fendall Campus.
“The Board of Trustees appeals for the cooperation of all stakeholders of the University in observing these measures in the interest of the smooth running of the University.”
