Capitol Hill, Monrovia: University of Liberia President, Dr. Layli Marpanyan has held acquaintance dialogue with leaders of various campus-based political parties. It is part of administration’s effort to end student protest.
Major rival parties including the Student Unification Party (SUP), the Progressive Students Alliance (PROSA) and the Student Integration Movement (SIM) attended the meeting, along with representatives from Student Affairs. It is geared towards understanding the students’ concerns and harness ways to collectively resolve those concerns.
A release from the office of University of Liberia Relations states that the presidentβs engagement with the students is part of her broader effort to integrate students into the decision-making processes of the institution.
During the meeting, Dr. Marpanyan urged the students to remain cautious and support the administration in improving teaching and learning.

The meeting comes days after the students staged major protests across all campuses of the UL. They are demanding reforms in the 2024/2025 academic calendar, including the immediate reopening of the add and drop process.
